So here’s the deal…
I’ve taken the month of August off to get some serious time into the website.
I might even catch up to the target of a lesson a week i set myself a few months ago.. you never know.
What I need now though is for you guys to suggest some lesson topics and tell me what you would like to see covered in the next batch of lessons.
email me @ john@guitarod.com
A few of you have come up with some great suggestions already but i need more so keep those ideas coming.
Anything goes and i’m up for a challenge so don’t be shy
Big thanks in advance guys.
JD

Hi John,
I reckon you should do a lesson on how to do cool Dorian and Blues Scale tapping runs and how to work them into your playing!
Or
How to get your speed picking skills up to scratch and basics of speed licks!
Or
Fast Blues Licks!
Later,
Ben

hello john.
i’m having tuning problems, the heavy E and A strings on my guitar take far longer than the rest to bed in after a string change and drop a semi tone out, how can i remedy this?
thanks for the help
guitarod says:
Hi Anthony.
“Bedding in” is a bit of a myth. If you put your strings on your guitar and leave them they will take a long time to “settle” because they are still very elastic.
You can stop this by bending the pre-tension out of the strings;
- String your guitar
- Tune it
- bend the 6th string a few times
- tune it again.
Do this with each string until it stops going out of tune and your done,
Hope this helps

PS, i’m doing a guitar setup DVD before the end of the year, sign up for email updates and I’ll let you know when its coming out
